Katie's birthday is actually in December so we celebrate it in June. What could a kid possibly need 5 days after Christmas? So today was the day and we had a lot of fun. She especially loved the Hannah Montana wig she got from Mom and Dad. She won't take the crazy thing off now. She's such a funny girl.

Evan come for a visit
Evan got to come stay with us for a few days. We've had so much fun having for a visit. He and Katie are the best of friends.
Katie's Boot Cake
Sydney made Katie's cake this year. She made a pattern, cut it out, decorated it. I think she did a very nice job and has been elected birthday cake maker henceforth.

Young Women's Camp 2009
I was asked to go to YW camp this year as one of the cooks. They decided to have all the girls and leaders in one big building this year and have all meals provided for them. The thinking was that the girls from different wards would become more unified as a stake if they were all together instead of separating off into different campsites. I think it was a great idea and the girls really did create a lot of new friendships. The adults did also and I had so much fun meeting new people from various wards. I wonder if they don't have camp as much for the adults as they do the kids because we had way too much fun. Sleep was not an option for the week since we were all in one big building but I got caught up as soon as I got home today.
There was a beautiful pond where we were staying that the girls were able to swim in while we were there.
Sydney peeking her head from her loft bedroom she shared with about 10 other girls. In all we had about 100 people at camp.
Craft time
Shadi, myself (looking beautiful I might add), and Carrie. We had so much fun cooking for everyone. One of the groups made us a huge "thank you" card that we hung in the kitchen. You can see it over our heads. The girls and leaders were so appreciative and gave us many many thanks and praises on the meals provided.
Shadi and Carrie in the beginning when we were still beautiful!
As fun as it all was, I am exhausted and don't think I want to cook again for a very long time.
